Plastic components for medical technology

Plastics have always inspired medical technology. As versatile as the material plastic itself - as diverse and individual can be products made of it.

We develop and manufacture high-quality tubes, connectors and applications as well as customer-specific assemblies for demanding applications in medical technology. Our components are used in the areas of infusion, dialysis, endoscopy, enteral nutrition, but also, for example, in hearing aids. For many years, we have successfully combined the two manufacturing technologies of extrusion and injection molding in demanding medical technology projects and thus offer creative solutions from a single source.

More and more often, we are also development partners and accompany medical products from the idea to the finished product.

In Halberstadt, polymer materials are processed into medical tubing by extrusion in ISO Class 6 to 8 cleanrooms, in Wald-Michelbach, matching connection parts such as clamps, adapters, connectors or protective caps are manufactured by injection molding. On request, we assemble the individual components into customer-specific and precisely fitting assemblies - for example by bonding (with solvent adhesives or UV adhesives) or by ultrasonic welding.

We offer a wide range of cleanroom solutions for medical tubing.

We offer all assembly steps in the clean room according to ISO 14644-1 ISO Class 7 in accordance with the cleanliness and quality requirements of the respective product. As far as materials, manufacturing techniques and industry requirements are concerned, we can draw on a broad and deep know-how. Our products are "made in Germany". In addition to the legal framework conditions according to DIN EN ISO 13485:2016, we also meet the requirements of the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

We are at the MedtecLIVE 2024 in Stuttgart!

Laser marking under clean room conditions

Novoplast Schlauchtechnik offers its customers added value through offline marking by means of a laser. Graduations, series or batch numbers are thus permanently applied to hoses as smudge- and abrasion-resistant markings.

Tool and production relocation

Sometimes it becomes necessary to relocate a mold and the entire associated injection molding production from one supplier to another. We bring the best conditions for a successful relocation of your molds and production.

Application examples for medical hoses and components

Filigree tubes for a tumor marker

In cooperation with a Berlin-based company that produces high-quality disposable medical instruments for diagnostics and therapy, we have realized a tumor marker with very good ultrasound and X-ray visibility.

For this, tubing sections made of soft low-density polyethylene (LDPE) from Novoplast Schlauchtechnik were assembled with 2-component injection-molded parts from Fleima-Plastic in the clean room to create the perfect end product.

Determine the right amount of oxygen

At Novoplast Schlauchtechnik, 3-layer multilayer hoses are produced that are used in the respiratory gas analysis line of artificially ventilated patients. This is used to measure CO2 concentration and partial pressure in the bypass method. Both are the basis for the enrichment of the supplied breathing air with anaesthetics or oxygen. At Fleima-Plastic the matching connectors are manufactured. Both parts are matched to each other in such a way that no leaks occur that could lead to incorrect measured values.

Detect corona foci by contrast medium

For the detection of corona foci in the human lung, a magnetic resonance examination is also frequently performed. The visibility of the inflammation is already good with this method without additional contrast injection. However, many doctors now also perform a contrast medium injection by high pressure. As a rule, quite hard, pressure-insensitive monolayer as well as co-extruded tubes from Novoplast Schlauchtechnik are used here - together with pressure-resistant connectors from Fleima-Plastic.

Company profiles - Novoplast Schlauchtechnik and Fleima-Plastic

Novoplast Schlauchtechnik, the specialist for the production of filigree plastic hoses as well as profiles

Our know-how in the field of extrusion

Our know-how in the field of extrusion is tailored to the needs of medical technology manufacturers. Extruded plastics are often the solution in medical technology when it comes to optimal  flexibility, hygiene and creation of prototypes.

For medical technology, we offer both microextrusion for tubing with a diameter of less than 2 mm and coextrusion for the insertion of functional strips in the tubing wall.

Medical tubes

In the field of medical tubing, we offer a variety of products that we customize to meet your specific needs:

Our know-how in injection moulding and mould making

Injection moulding production at Fleima-Plastic takes place under controlled process conditions. We have 22 injection molding machines and our own mold and die shop. We can quickly and efficiently create the designed tools and molds and test the first injection molding samples within a very short time. Our mold shop is staffed by highly experienced as well as top level trained tool mechanics and mold makers.

Medical standard injection moulding components

In the field of standard medical components, we already offer an enormous variety of products. We will be happy to help you find the right connectors, clamps, caps or adapters for your applications based on your requirements, such as tubing diameter or material.
